KINZ/Jinzhi provides highly reliable industrial fiber optic components for isolation in the data acquisition/control and power generation markets. These products have excellent high insulation voltage performance and immunity to EMI, and can be installed and operated near power transmission pipelines that can produce destructive electrical interference. As the global demand for renewable energy grows, the design of wind turbines has become larger and larger. Jinzhi's industrial fiber optic products provide a wide range of data rates and link lengths for many applications in this power generation market.

The power of a wind generator is used to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy through the use of a generator. As the wind conditions change, the electricity generated from the generator needs to be converted to availability. Rectifiers, inverters, transformers and filters are needed in wind turbines so that utility-grade AC power can be transmitted over long distances (bottom right).
Transformers are usually installed at the bottom of the tower to provide voltage conversion from the low voltage generated by the wind turbine to the medium/high voltage transmission.
Rectifier and inverter

There are many rectifier and inverter control switches available:
↓ Insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)
↓ Gate turn-off thyristor (GTO)
↓ Integrated Gate Commutation Thyristor (IGCT)
↓ Symmetrical gate commutated thyristor (SGCT)
↓ Emitter turn-off thyristor (ETO)
Fiber optic components are usually used to control high-voltage and current switching equipment, and have reliable control and feedback signals (Figures 2 and 3).

Rectifiers and inverters are key components in wind turbine systems. The rectifier converts noisy alternating current into direct current, and the inverter converts direct current into clean and reliable alternating current power.

Networking of wind turbines and wind farms
Wind turbines need to withstand extreme weather conditions such as storms and lightning. It is important to ensure that the turbine monitoring system is designed to provide high voltage and galvanic isolation. Optical fiber has become the preferred medium of choice because it has higher voltage and current isolation characteristics than optocouplers and other similar components.

Jinzhi provides industry standard connectors such as ST/ST-thread and SMA. The HFBR-0400Z series can run on HCS and multimode fiber, and they can provide greater bandwidth and link distance compared to POF solutions. These parts are commonly used in wind turbine towers and long-distance wind farm networks.

Jinzhi provides a series of fiber optic transmitters, receivers and transceivers for wind turbine monitoring systems and network applications. Such as 650nm, 820nm or 1300nm components, its data rate is up to 160MBd, which can meet the needs of customers in various link distances.
